Did Drake Drop New Album To Leave Cash Money ?

Drake dropped a surprise album last night (Feb. 12) and now rumors are circulating that he released the album only to complete his contractual obligation with Cash Money. The reports claim the album hit iTunes and was almost immediately available on SoundClound because it isn’t about the money, it’s about finishing his contract so he can depart from his label.
“The latest on the streets is that Drake dropped this new album/mixtape to fulfill his contractual obligation with Cash Money. This is why it is on iTunes. But did you peep how uber fast it appeared on SoundCloud (some say at the same time it showed up on iTunes)?” (AllHipHop)

Rick Ross & Meek Mill Involved In A Fight At NYC Nightclub

NBA All Star weekend is in full effect so of course Rick Ross and Meek Mill were partying at a club Friday night in New York, and the two were reportedly involved in a huge fight with a group of guys who decided it would be a good idea to start a fight with the Boss and Meek.
According to eyewitnesses, the group of guys seemed mad about the two being on their turf. Meek reportedly threw some punches and Ross just pushed some people before the MMG bodyguards handled the group.
“The eyewitnesses say the guys who picked the fight seemed to object to Ross and Mill being on their turf at NYC’s Liberty Theatre.
We’re told Meek threw a few punches and Rick seemed to confine his activity to pushing.  On the other hand, we’re told Rick’s bodyguards took care of business.” (TMZ)

Suge Knight Says Tupac Is Alive,Insults Puff Daddy

Former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight has again shared his belief that the late Tupac Shakur is not dead. TMZ caught up with Knight earlier this week outside of 1OAK as he proceeded to take part in a rant that touched on Tupac, Puff Daddy, why he thinks Pac is still alive, and more.
According to Knight, part of the reason why he believes Tupac is alive is because someone came forward to confess to shooting the rapper, but was never arrested. He also went on to call Puff Daddy a “bitch ass” and questioned why people would question his involvement in Tupac’s death when “every rat” says it was Puff who had the late rapper killed.
“One thing people gotta realize. It’s mothafuckas born and raised out here,” Knight said. “You supposed to respect the mothafuckas that live out here. Cause right now we got a lot of out-of-towners living out here and they ain’t said nothing about it. You’ll have a mothafucka walk down the street and say ‘Suge Knight killed Tupac.’ When everybody know off the top I ain’t the nigga that killed Tupac. I’m the nigga that protected Tupac.
“But at the same time bitch ass Puffy can get him a mothafuckin star and every rat in the world say he’s the one who killed Tupac, or had him shot,” he added. “You get what I mean? But if you noticed it was a rat on television saying he the one did the shooting. This happened, that happened, this happened, that happened, right? If you think about it, right? Why you think nobody been arrested if they said they the one killed Tupac…Because Tupac not dead. Tupac not dead, nigga. If he was dead they’d be arresting those dudes for murder. You know he somewhere smoking a Cuban cigar on an island somewhere.”
Knight also criticized what he referred to as “Hollywood rappers” and boasted on not being a snitch, during his rant.
“Everybody know one thing about me. I don’t care [about] any nigga in Hollywood, any nigga on the streets,” he said. “Especially Hollywood rappers. We get our paperwork and see what all we ever been arrested for. I guarantee you it’s never been nothing for me but straight real shit and violence…I ain’t never in my life told. You know, I’m the mothafucka when people ask me if I know who killed Tupac—and not saying Tupac’s dead or alive. I’m saying if they asked me if I know who killed Tupac, I’m the nigga that said ‘Aye, absolutely not.’ You know what I mean? I don’t get down like that.”
During an interview with Los Angeles radio station 93.5 KDay over two years ago, Knight expressed his belief that Tupac might not be dead due to the fact that no one saw his body and he was immediately cremated following his death.
“Maybe the question is Pac really not dead. Pac’s somewhere else,” Knight said. “I mean it’s the truth if you really look at it…Nobody seen Tupac dead. The thing is this the person who supposedly cremated Tupac, his mother wanted done quickly, he passed. So this guy got about three million dollars personally from me, cash. And next thing I know I never heard from the guy or seen him again.”

Chris Brown Addresses Meek Mill Party Brawl

Chris Brown took to Instagram yesterday (February 9) to say that he was not involved in any fighting after a post-Grammys party hosted by Meek Mill at Justin Bieber’s former house that resulted in police involvement.
“Lol..” Chris Brown writes in a photo caption. “Killing these lil rumours that I got beat up last night at meek mill party. It's funny how I'm always the topic of discussion for bullshit. Given my prior encounters with the law I don't conduct myself like that when I go out. So no, I wasnt involved in any pistol whipping or fighting. There was an altercation between other people at the party and I observed. Me and my team left so we wouldn't have anything to do with it so the police wouldn't fuck wit me. You know how my name pops up in everything. Lol. GOOD DAY SIR”
TMZ reports that the party, attended by artists such as Nicki Minaj, French Montana, escalated into a melee when local gang rivals mixed it up.
“During the melee, we're told punches and even ice sculptures were tossed -- and most of the guests fled into the street,” TMZ reports. “Law enforcement sources tell us ... cops were called around 1:30 AM for loud music, and found more than 1,000 people walking around the ritzy 'hood. It took about 3 hours to clear the streets.”
Justin Bieber had recently moved out of the house and Meek Mill reportedly leased the crib for the Grammys week.
Chris Brown, whose collab Fan Of a Fan: The Album with Tyga is slated to be released February 24, had his Lamborghini searched for guns in Hollywood early Grammys weekend.

Jay Z's Roc Nation & Three Six Zero Group Announce New Management Company

Just two weeks after it was announced that Jay Z had reportedly made a $56 million offer to acquire the music streaming company Aspiro, it appears another business venture is in the works for the Brooklyn, New York rapper.
According to Billboard, Hov’s multifaceted Roc Nation and the management company Three Six Zero Group have partnered to form Three Six Zero Entertainment. The new outfit will reportedly focus on representing actors as well as directors and writers in the film, television and digital industries.
Acting as co-CEOs will be David Unger — who was previously with Resolution — as well as Three Six Zero’s CEO, Mark Gillespie.
"We will now expand to meet the need for international talent in the areas of film and television," David Unger said in a statement.
Mark Gillespie added: "The phenomenal growth and cross-over from international territories and ancillary businesses has transformed the way we service our clients globally. It is a natural fit for us to partner with David."
Speaking on the partnership, Roc Nation’s CEO Jay Brown said: "Mark and Dean and the Three Six Zero family have achieved tremendous success in music and now Three Six Zero Entertainment will expand their potential in film and television.”
A source close to the deal told Billboard that the decision to use Three Six Zero’s moniker was due to Roc Nation’s close relationship with the music industry. Despite managing the likes of Calvin Harris, Deadmau5 and Frank Ocean, Three Six Zero is seen as relatively neutral territory.
