Tupac "All Eyez On Me:The Writings Of Tupac Shakur" Grammy Museum Exhibit Opens

The Grammy Museum exhibit honoring Tupac Shakur opened last night (February 2). Michael Namikas attended the opening of “All Eyez on Me: The Writings of Tupac Shakur” and shared his experience in reddit's Hip Hop Heads forum. According to Namikas, in attendance were the late rapper’s family and friends including his mother Afeni Shakur, his stepbrother, his sister and members of the Outlawz Kastro and E.D.I. Mean.

The event included a panel that featured Mean, Public Enemy’s Chuck D, skateboarder Paul Rodriguez, Digital Underground’s Money B, Poetic Justice director John Singleton, Compton, California rapper YG and others who knew Tupac well.

“It was a very interesting discussion that really highlighted Tupac’s spirit and the experiences members of the panel had with him,” Namikas says. “You really got a sense of what Tupac was like as a person from the stories they related.”

The museum itself is described as “small, but it’s pretty well-rounded.” Artifacts include some of Tupac’s outfits to various award shows and handwritten lyrics. All the memorabilia was provided by the Tupac Shakur estate, which is run by his mother.

The exhibit is open to the public until April 22.

Kanye West's Yeezy 3 Will Reportedly Be Released During New York Fashion Week

It appears as though Kanye West’s highly anticipated sneaker collaboration with adidas may be released during New York Fashion Week.

According to SneakerMob, a photo uploaded to Instagram by Renaissance Menswear buyer Rahmon Ehlen, reveals that the new line will be unveiled during New York Fashion week, which runs from February 12 through to February 19.

Neither adidas nor Kanye West have confirmed the date of the launch.

This news comes shortly after adidas launched their Confirmed app, an application that will allow consumers in New York City to reserve the hottest sneaker releases.

Speaking on the new application, adidas’ Vice President of Brand Activation Simon Atkins said:

“If you look at the landscape today in our industry, it can be very frustrating,” he explained during an interview with Forbes. “People are faced with several issues that gets in the way of a seamless transaction. A lot of retailers use a lottery system in brick and mortar. A lot of people believe the system is rigged. Because of a live re-sale industry, a lot of people trying to game the system. We’ve tried to be the first in the industry to cut through all of that.

“When you look at the business of sport for footwear and apparel, highly anticipated product (particularly footwear) drives interest around a product,” Atkins added. “While the app is associated with Kanye West, it has longevity along a large amount of our limited release products, including with sport.”

Styles P Calls Past Feud With 50 Cent "Lyrical Sparring"

According to Styles P, the past beef between The Lox and fellow New York City artist 50 Cent wasn’t as heated as some may have assumed it was. During a newly-published interview with Vlad TV, The Lox lyricist referred to the Yonkers-based group’s beef with 50 as “lyrical sparring.”

While speaking on the alleged feud between The Lox and 50 Cent, Styles offered his thoughts on how beef between artists is currently handled in today’s music. He shared his belief that artists today “aren’t really realistic” or are too buddy-buddy with one another to feud on wax or challenge their fellow artists lyrically on a record.

“Yeah, I think we was cool after that,” Styles P said when asked about his on-air conversation with 50 Cent years ago. “Seemed kinda cool. Then we went to do that—It was us, Dipset. He did a thing at Governors Island. He did a show at Governors Island. We came out. Dipset came out. It wasn’t like heated beef though. Lyrical sparring. That’s it…I think Hip Hop is meant to be competitive. You’re meant to be competitive. We’re competitive to a point where when me, Sheek, and Kiss is in the studio we’re working together, but we’re competitive. You know what I’m saying? It’s not like ‘Yeah, I want Sheek or Kiss to have the best verse.’

“I think it’s just that people aren’t really realistic or face reality with they self or they too buddy-buddied up to be normal,” he added. “I’ll tell you in a minute you can be cool as shit with me. If I’m in the studio and we gonna get on a song together, I’m gonna try to take you down. I’mma aim for your head. I’mma aim for you neck…And you supposed to do the same with me. I ask that of you. I would hope that that’s the attitude you bring to the table. Cause then you get the best out of each other.”

Styles P also offered an update on the possible The Lox, G-Unit, and Dipset tour, Sheek Louch spoke on last year.

“I think it’s an idea that they’re trying to work on. But I don’t know. But it’s a grand fuckin’ idea, if you ask me,” the rapper said when asked if the tour is still happening.

Wiz Khalifa On Reconciling With Amber Rose: " No Thanks "

Wiz Khalifa sent out a series of tweets yesterday (February 3) that included a response to a commenter who suggested the rapper get his wife back.

“no thanks,” wrote the Pittsburgh rapper, who is estranged from his wife, Amber Rose.

In the first of the series of tweets, Wiz Khalifa wrote, "a woman who would do something to a kid to spite that kids father is a foul creature.”

That is followed-up by a tweet saying, “Seen my boy. All is well.”

Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose are the parents of Sebastian Taylor Thomaz, who was born February 2013.

In September 2014, Amber Rose filed for divorce from Wiz Khalifa over irreconcilable differences. Amber will reportedly make $1 million from Wiz Khalifa, who is seeking joint custody of their son, as part of their prenuptial agreement.
