Jay Z;s $56 Million Aspiro Bid Accepted

The Swedish television and music streaming services company known as Aspiro is reportedly close to rejecting a deal made by Project Panther Bidco, a subsidiary of Jay Z’s Shawn Carter Enterprises.
Billboard.com reports that an offer of $56 million was made by Project Panther Bidco, but may be rejected due to minority shareholders who control 10 percent of Aspiro.
According to the website, among the concerns of the minority shareholders is the fact that Project Panther Bidco hasn't been upfront with “its plans for international expansion” and “the calculations that went into the initial $56 million bid.”
Aspiro’s minority shareholders and Project Panther Bidco now have until March 11 to begin negotiations and decide whether or not to accept or deny any offers.
At the top of this year, it was reported that Jay Z put in his bid for the music streaming service, which currently has 500,000 paid users, in December, and shortly after received preliminary acceptance by the company's board.
“Panther believes that the recent developments in the entertainment industry, with the migration to media streaming, offers great potential for increased entertainment consumption and an opportunity for artists to further promote their music. Panther's strategic ambition revolves around global expansion and up-scaling of Aspiro's platform, technology and services,” a spokesperson for Project Panther Bidco said in a statement in January, according to Billboard.com.

Pharrell,Robin Thicke Ordered To Pay $7.3 Million Dollars To Marvin Gaye Family

Blurred Lines” By Robin Thicke, Pharrell, And T.I. was a monstrous hit in 2013, making an estimated $16.5 million. Soon after the song caught on, Marvin Gaye‘s family struck the musicians with a massive lawsuit. The family claims ‘Blurred Lines’ is a clear rip off of Marvin’s song, “Got To Give Up“.
Earlier today (March 10) a jury decided that the song was, in fact, infringing on Gaye’s song. According to Variety, the Gaye family feels justice has been served.
“Right now, I feel free,” Marvin Gaye’s daughter, Nona Gaye, said after the verdict. “Free from … Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke’s chains and what they tried to keep on us and the lies that were told.”

UPDATE:

So apparently this all might be a prank call…TMZ reports that even though the 911 caller claimed 4 people had already been shot, police are beginning to think it’s a case of “Swatting.” Wayne also took to Twitter to address the situation.
“The bizarre report comes 11 days after police raced to the home to check on a report of a suspicious person lurking outside the home. Cops let the guy go because when they arrived he was on public property.
As for today’s incident … we’re told Wayne is in Miami but is not at home.
Police now believe this might be a case of “swatting” … where someone places a prank emergency call in order to prompt a full force response from cops.”

Chris Brown Going After His Baby's Mama For Revealing He's A Father

As we reported, Chris Brown is the father of a 9-month-old baby girl, and now reports claim the singer didn’t know about the baby until last month, when the baby’s mother broke the news. When Brown found out he immediately made a deal with Nia where he will pay more monthly child support than required if she kept her mouth shut.
According to the reports, Brown is now getting legal docs together asking the judge for an order for him to pay the child support, and because Nia didn’t cooperate with Brown he is set to pay less than he offered to pay her.
“We’re told Chris upped that amount and in return demanded that she keep her lips sealed. We know Chris now believes Nia has been leaking stories and talking about their relationship. As a result, our sources say his lawyers are now preparing legal docs, in which he will ask a judge for an order requiring him to pay child support. It sounds strange, but he’ll pay less than he does now.”

50 Cent Says Game Acted Bipolar

While appearing on Hot 97 this week, 50 Cent shared the details of his falling out with former G-Unit artist Game. According to the Queens rapper, Game’s departure from G-Unit stemmed from a disagreement the Compton emcee had with Memphis Bleek and a diss he made towards Jay Z.
50 Cent also said that Game wanted to disassociate himself from 50’s The Massacre record “Piggy Bank” and downplay his alleged feud with Memphis Bleek and Jay Z during a radio interview. He added that before Game could make a statement about Jay, Bleek, and “Piggy Bank,” his idea was to get rid of the rapper.
“Nah, that was intended,” 50 Cent said when asked if he respects Game for leaving G-Unit. “Cause I don’t even know what sparked it. You see what I’m saying? If I had an argument or we had some sort of differences, I would understand it…The first thing that happened he went overseas. His first week numbers came back. He attacked Jay. He said something about Jay cause he was supposed to have ran into Memphis Bleek and had some sort of beef. I didn’t know what was going on…First, I was trying to get in contact with Jay. Cause I was like ‘He just got off. Jay will stomp him out.’ You see what I’m saying? I’m like ‘Wait, let me get in contact with him to stop it from going bad. I can fix it before it actually happens.’
“And then before I could actually get to him. I went up and he was calling the radio station saying ‘Yo, put me on the air. Put me on the air,’” he added. “His way of trying to fix that situation was saying ‘I don’t have no problem. Not with Jay Z. Not with Memphis Bleek. I don’t have a problem with nobody. I don’t have anything to do with that record ‘Piggy Bank’ that 50 Cent got or anything else.’ I’m like ‘Alright, well get rid of him before he even get a chance to make the statement.’ Since he’s saying it internally over and over. So, I’m not gonna wait for him to say it publicly…He’s one of the artists that showed me that you don’t actually have to have consistency. Cause he’ll go one way and then completely go the other way like he bipolar or something.”
Prior to speaking on Game, 50 Cent spoke on New York Hip Hop and why he felt it wasn’t his responsibility to help those who didn’t look out for him at the start of his music career.
“I couldn’t even get a deal in New York City,” he said. “My deal is with Eminem from Detroit. Dr. Dre from the West Coast. Because they were going ‘No, no, no. We like real. We want the real, but wait, yours is too real.’ It is what it is. It was no deal. There was nothing there for me. This is why—People always misinterpret what they’re [actually seeing]. Because I’m the underdog, when I get to the winning slot I’m going—I’m not looking back to help people who weren’t helping me in the whole time. Who would be doing that?”
Lastly, 50 Cent again addressed his relationship with those in G-Unit. He went on to take some responsibility for the group and then explained why members of groups like the St. Lunatics and D12 didn’t receive the individual shine that those in G-Unit did.
“Can you name every member of D12? Okay,” the rapper said. “Can you name every member of the St. Lunatics? I’mma tell you why. I’mma tell you why. I’mma tell you why you can’t name them. It’s because they all had to wait til after the second cycle of their leader. So, Nelly’s first album popped. Then Nelly’s second album popped. And because those albums were hugely successful albums it took a long time for the record to be over for them to get to the next album. So, it was so long that everybody just became they crew with Nelly. It’s like Em. D12’s the crew with Em. G-Unit, the first record came out, boom. I forced the G-Unit album to come out. Interscope didn’t want the G-Unit album. They wanted the next 50 Cent record. It just sold 13 million records. So, I forced that record to come out. It caused Lloyd Banks to sell three million records off of the momentum following right off of that. Buck, 1.8 million records. Then Yayo like 800-something thousand…And then it’s like ‘Okay, now we gotta work.’”

HipHopDX Returns To Scene Of Biggie Shooting

18 years after his death, HipHopDX retraced the location of The Notorious B.I.G.'s last moments and visited the site of his shooting in Los Angeles.
Tracking the path Biggie took from a Vibe after party to the traffic light where he was shot in 1997, DX's Andre Grant helped capture the modern-day setting of the still iconic intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.
The intersection is currently the site of the under-construction Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, a planned 300,000 square foot space dedicated to the history of and ongoing education about film.
B.I.G. was only 24-years old when he was murdered. After the shooting, the Ready To Die rapper was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he was pronounced dead early on the morning of March 9 following an emergency surgery.
More than ten years after his death an autopsy report for Christopher Wallace was made public. The report revealed that three of the four shots that struck Biggie were not fatal, the shot that killed him injuring his colon, liver, heart, and one lung.

50 Cent Inquired About Buying Murder Inc.

50 Cent: “Yeah I saw it and looked at it. It even made me look at what it would cost. I aint gone lie, I was like yo how much would it be? It would be cool to do that cause you can. It’s just to finish it off. In the Laws [48 Laws Of Power], you destroy it completely or you offer someone more passion because you hurt them.”
The biggest send off in the history of beefs would have been 50 acquiring Murder Inc. after he demolished Ja Rule in their previous beef over the years. It would have been the very definition of cold blooded.

Suge Knight Was going To Kill Dr.Dre

50 Cent: “You have to understand, man. Suge was gon’ kill Dre. He was gon’ kill him because ‘Pac was making number one records and Dre wasn't producing any of ‘em. And ‘Pac was getting ready to be done.”
That Suge was planning on killing Dr. Dre according to Fif’ because Dre was becoming a liability with Tupac on his way out and Dre producing none of his number one records at the time. So how do you keep ‘Pac? You offer him Dre’s half, according to the Machiavellian emcee.

Eminem A "Bitch," Detroit Rap Pioneer Esham Says

Detroit Rap pioneer Esham challenges Eminem in an interview with Murder Master Music Show posted by UGS Radio today (February 27).
"Tell Em to come on man, rap battle what?” Esham says in the interview. “Come on, what? Where ya at? I challenge."
Esham became one of Detroit’s biggest independent artists in the ‘90s. His powerful and dark style known as “acid rap” helped influence the careers of Tech N9ne and Insane Clown Posse, among others.
He says Eminem has been disrespecting the city of Detroit.
"I am tired of Eminem,” Esham says in the interview. “I just want him to keep it real and quit being a bitch. He fuckin' sold a lotta people out in the city, man. He needs to stop disrespecting the city and making people hate Detroit even more. That's what that was about. Don't even say shit about Detroit""
Esham points to recent Shady XV track “Detroit Vs. Everybody” as a moment were Em did not show proper respect for the city.
"With the ‘Detroit Vs. Everybody’ don't say Detroit vs. everybody… you don’t help nobody in the city,” Esham says. “I don’t give a fuck. I will say that. You got a radio station and nobody gets played on your station? Come on, B. Get the fuck outta here. You got 50 hundred million dollars and you ain't doing shit. Do something for the schools, anything, I don't wanna hear that shit. If you say something about Detroit, I'm gonna say something about you. Let somebody say something to me. I ain't gonna say shit. I ain't lyin' on that muthafucka.”
Eminem is reportedly working on an album for 2015 called Roots.
Esham recently released the twenty-fifth anniversary edition of his debut album, Boomin’ Words of Hell.
"When I came out with my first album I was just a kid...” Esham says on his website. “I unknowingly started the Wicket Shit! If you had asked me then I wouldn't have believed I would spark the creation of an entire sub-genre. Over the years, many have indulged and benefited from the fruits of my labor. I felt betrayed at times but I've given back far more than I've taken from this game. I'm at peace with that. I feel blessed to be considered one of the most influential artists in rap music and cursed to have never been accepted by my peers."

Chris Brown Says Kendrick Lamar Has One Of The Best Verses He's Ever Heard

Chris Brown, who worked with Kendrick Lamar on "Autumn Leaves," says he has a tremendous amount of respect for the good kid, m.A.A.d. city star.
"Kendrick is amazing," Brown says in an interview with XXL's Miranda J. "I think he’s just a great dude aside from being an artist. He’s a real humble cat and a respectable guy. And also, he’s an incredible lyricist. So I think when we did the song, just his subject matter and how he approached the track was mind-blowing. I think he had one of the best verses that I have ever heard because of what he was saying and the message that he was talking about."
Brown says Lamar differentiates himself from other rappers due to the subject matter he employs in his rhymes.
"Some rappers, you have guys that will only talk about what they have or what they got or what they can shine off of," Brown explains. "But I think when you can paint a picture poetically, it’s more therapeutic, and at the end of the day it means a lot more. It goes a long way."

That alone should be a felony — the 24-carat gold paper is definitely an aggravating circumstance," Grace told Rolling Stone"The caviar of joints?  For someone as smart and educated as 2 Chainz, this video is even more ironic. 2 Chainz won't allow his children to have caffeine: not even a soda. (P.S., I don't either.) Wait until his children spot this video on the Internet. Explain that, Daddy."
Last month, Grace and 2 Chainz had a heated debate over the legalization of marijuana on her show.

Pharrell & Robin Thicke Earned More Than $5Million Each For "Blurred Lines," Lawsuit Claims

The success of "Blurred Lines" spans much further than Billboard charts.
Attorneys involved in the lawsuit concerning the 2013 record and its copyright infringement of Marvin Gaye's "Got To Give It Up" claim the song has earned $16.6 million.
According to Business Insider, Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke earned more than $5 million each off the song, while T.I. has earned over $700,000.
The remainder of the profits –roughly $5.9 million – has been split between Interscope Records, Universal Music Group and Star Trak Entertainment.

If the court rules in favor of the Gaye family, they would be entitled to both "mechanical royalties" and to "performance rights" from the song.
