Pharrell,Robin Thicke Ordered To Pay $7.3 Million Dollars To Marvin Gaye Family

“Blurred Lines” By Robin Thicke, Pharrell, And T.I. was a monstrous hit in 2013, making an estimated $16.5 million. Soon after the song caught on, Marvin Gaye‘s family struck the musicians with a massive lawsuit. The family claims ‘Blurred Lines’ is a clear rip off of Marvin’s song, “Got To Give Up“.
Earlier today (March 10) a jury decided that the song was, in fact, infringing on Gaye’s song. According to Variety, the Gaye family feels justice has been served.

“Right now, I feel free,” Marvin Gaye’s daughter, Nona Gaye, said after the verdict. “Free from … Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke’s chains and what they tried to keep on us and the lies that were told.”
