YG & TY Dolla $ign Being Investigated After Alleged Assault In Australia

YG and Ty Dolla $ign are alleged to have assaulted a man at Eve Nightclub in Melbourne, Australia this past Sunday (January 25), according to TMZ.

The site reports that a clubgoer is accusing the two rappers of “punching” and “kicking” him over disputes regarding the club’s VIP area.

“The alleged victim claims he was hanging in the VIP area when the rappers and their crew rolled in and tried to shove everyone else out,” TMZ reports. “The victim says when he refused to bolt ... they unloaded on him and then chased him outside.”

Not long afterwards, the police reportedly shut down the club.

No arrests have yet been made but TMZ states that the police are currently investigating the alleged assault.

Sources close to the rappers subsequently told the celebrity gossip site that the West Coast artists never touched the man, and they instead claim that the club’s security guards tossed him out.

Bobby Shmurda & GS9 Now Face Over 100 Charges

Bobby Shmurda, Rowdy Rebel and 13 other GS9 members pled not guilty yesterday (January 29) to over 100 charges inside of a New York City Supreme Court, XXL reports.

In the first hearing since the initial Dec. 17 arrests, the State added an additional 32 charges - to the original 69-count indictment - bringing the total to 101. Three more individuals have been added to the indictment, as well.

Kenneth J. Montgomery has replaced Howard Greenberg as Shmurda's primary counsel.

According to XXL, Shmurda's new lawyer challenged the $2 million figure set by Judge James Burke, calling the initial fee "extremely unfair" and "excessive." He requested a special bail hearing for this Monday to lower the amount.

Rebel's lawyer also asked the judge to lower his client's $2 million bail, as well.

Both requests were denied. The judge refused to lower bail for any of the defendants, but promised to revisit the claims at the next scheduled session on Apr. 22.

Montgomery told HipHopDX prior to the hearing, that he anticipated the government would oppose his bail package regardless of its merits, but he was "hopeful" to receive a fair hearing.

Shmurda was initially indicted on charges including reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, conspiracy to commit murder in the second degree and criminally using drug paraphernalia.

If convicted, he will face up to 25 years in prison.

Nitty Scott Talks Dating Kendrick Lamar & Changing Her Image

People have been responding to Nitty Scott’s new revealing image.

She spoke on Hot 97's  Ebro in the Morning about the effects of her decision to show off her body.

When asked if more people have been sliding into her Twitter direct messages, Nitty replied,“I don’t have a number, but it’s absolutely increased.”

Scott told the radio show morning crew that early in her career, she was advised that she wouldn’t be respected as a sexy female rapper, so she chose to cover up. Most of the criticism she has received for her new image comes from men.

“It was men that were telling me in the beginning that you can’t be this hot and this talented at the same time,” she says. “Minds will be blown. We can’t handle it. I accepted that bullshit for a long time and kept myself in this place where I was miserable. People don’t know this. People don’t know that I was miserable. I would feel like I was completely suppressed.”

Kendrick Lamar's name came up in the conversation when the Art of Chill rapper told Ebro that she used to date him. The two have worked together before, most notably on “Flower Child.”

“That was my boo. I was seeing him and him only for at least a year,” she says. “The people that were in charge of my career in the past, that was a relationship that they were not comfortable with. I think that’s out of pocket already simply because I don’t think your personal relationships should be determined by people you are involved with professionally. But that is what really made it so that it couldn’t flourish just because I was told that was not a good look.”

50 Cent's Ex Accuses Him Of Being A Manipulating Women Beater

50 Cent’s ex-girlfriend, Tatted Up Holly, says the G-Unit artist mistreated her.

Holly screenshot a SMS conversation between her and Fif and shared it via Instagram. It has since been deleted from her account.

“U got way more to lose than me,” the text reads. “ Let’s see how these pics I got of u beating my ass will look on your record. Fuck u…Now u fucked with the wrong one.”

The caption was a bit more in depth, as Holly detailed her relationship with Fif.
“Now he wants me to calm down. U are nothin but a manipulating women beater. You’re a fucking bully. Puts fear in everybody’s heart mistaking it for respect. I treated this man like royalty but all I got in return was ass whippings. Didn’t ask him for shit. He would buy me gifts to only take them back, what a man!!! He wanted me love unconditionally, I’m sorry I will not tolerate a grown ass man putting their hands on me. I was good before you I will good without you @50cent.”

Holly's Instagram post came shortly after Fif shared his own IG post of a Media Takeout article, calling the vixen his girlfriend.

50 has since deleted the post, which called Holly "community pussy."

Hollly was a vixen in 50’s video “Smoke” featuring Trey Songz.

Fif has not commented on the claims and no charges have been filed.

Master P Teams Up With Hot Boy Turk On "Wodie" Remix

Master P has collaborated with another member of the Hot Boys.

After trading bars with Lil Wayne and his new clique - Money Mafia - the Hip Hop mogul has delivered a verse on the remix to Turk's new track, "Wodie."

"We gon' take this shit back," Turk says during the first few seconds of the song.

"Yeah, I'm fuckin' with the Hot Boys," P raps on his verse, before shouting out Hot Boys' affiliate B.G.

"Power", P's collaboration with Wayne was "historical."

The No Limit Records founder told Sway In The Morning that they had never done anything like that before. He also revealed that he and Wayne "swapped records" and that "anything is possible" when it comes to welcoming Weezy to No Limit Records.

Last year, Turk spoke to VladTV about a conversation he had with Wayne, in regards to joining Master P's No Limit imprint.

The pop star made the announcement that an “old school” female artist would be joining her at the Super Bowl during a press conference.

“I wanted to bring someone back,” Perry said. “A throwback of sorts that definitely needed some more shine. All I can say is it will be a real female fun night. It's a bit old school. When this person enters the stage and you hear the first ring of the chord I think jaws will drop and faces will melt.”

Although the Associated Press reports that Missy will appear as a guest performer during the halftime show, the news has yet to be confirmed by the NFL.

Both Missy Elliott and Katy Perry previously worked together on a remix to Perry’s 2011 record, “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).”

Retchy P Says He Wishes Wale Died Instead Of A$AP Yams; Wale And Fat Trel Respond

Rapper Retchy P recently took to Twitter to lambaste Maybach Music Group recording artist Wale in light of the recent passing of A$AP Mob’s co-founder, A$AP Yams.
Retchy P first revealed his thoughts that Yams’ death should have instead fell onto the shoulders of Flo Rida or Roscoe Dash.
“IT SHOULDA BEEN FLO RIDA,” he said. This was quickly followed with “OR ROSCOE DASH” and “JUS THINKIN OUT LOUD.”
After the aforementioned tweets, Retchy P pointed to Washington D.C. rapper, Wale.
“SHOULDA BEEN @WALE," Retchy P tweeted this past Saturday (January 24).
This was quickly followed with, "DEF @WALE" to which the MMG lyricist responded with, “@RetchyP so I should b dead? U want me to die? Correct? U don't know me but wish death to me."
In response, Retchy P wrote: “@WALE DEF, WOULD SWAP U OUT FOR MY MANS IN A HEARTBEAT #COLDWORLD.”
Wale hit back with: “@RetchyP yeah and Id swap U out for a hunnit good men I lost. U wish death on people.. U a different kind of nigga . Enjoy your evening.”
Again responding, Retchy P wrote: “@Wale IM A SICK KID WHAT CAN I SAY, DO SUTTIN WHEN U SEE ME I BE OUTSIDE.”
Following Retchy P and Wale’s back-and-forth, fellow D.C. and MMG spitter Fat Trel jumped in on the conversation to condemn P’s words.
“@retcyp NIGGA I WILL SMAKKK YA WHOLE FACE OFF!!! STOP PLAYIN BIG,” Fat Trel said.
In response, Retchy P wrote: “@FATTREL WE COULD ALL GO TA HELL IN DIS MUTHAFUCKA U AINT SAYIN BUT A WORD NIGGA U OUT HERE DEFENDIN ANOTHA GROWN ASS MAN TYPA NIGGA IS HE.”
Fat Trel subsequently tweeted: “@RetchyP NIGGA I AINT TRYNA HEAR DAT SHYT!!! ILL B IN NYC SOON...PULL UP ON UR BLOCK!!!!! NO TALKIN”

Jewell Explains Her Book's Claims About Tupac's Death And Dr.Dre's Sexuality

You had to be one hell of an interviewee to stand out amongst your co-stars in drug dealer-turned-Death Row Records financier Harry-O’s surprisingly well-done documentary, Welcome to Death Row. But one former Death Row inmate managed to do just that, as singer Jewell Caples arguably stole the show with her fearlessly honest (and at times cleverly humorous) observations about the rise and fall of one of the most successful, and perpetually controversial, record labels in music history.
A little over a decade after her film debut, the well-preserved 49-year-old mother, author and performer (who began her career in the mid-1980s as part of a performance troupe for the nation’s original Hip Hop radio station, Los Angeles’ KDAY) spoke to HipHopDX on Labor Day 2011 (courtesy of Hoopla Media Group) with shockingly even more eye-popping candor than her on-camera confessional.
As she prepares for the October 25th release of her memoir, My Blood, My Sweat and My Tears, and its accompanying album (which will precede the release of her long-vaulted Death Row debut by WIDEawake Entertainment), the hookstress heard on 2Pac’s “Thug Passion,” Dr. Dre’s “Dre Day,” Snoop Dogg’s “Gin & Juice” and several other timeless tracks from the G-Funk’d 1990s discussed with DX the “intimate secrets” in her book, including the premonition that might have saved ‘Pac’s life, and maybe most notably, the seemingly never-ceasing rumors regarding Dr. Dre’s sexual preference.

Gucci Mane Has At Least Three Hard Drives Worth Of Unreleased Music

During the third episode of Noisey’s series exploring the Atlanta rap scene, the show’s host Thomas Morton spoke with Curtis Daniels, the CEO of Patchwerk Studios where Gucci Mane frequents, who revealed that he owns three hard drives worth of unreleased Gucci Mane material.
“I liked [it] when he was here because he stayed out of trouble,” Curtis Daniels says. “And the label was like, ‘Hey, let’s just keep him in the studio because when he in the studio he ain’t getting into trouble.’ Usually he’ll go from jail to the studio. On the call he’ll be like, ‘I’m getting out. I’ve wrote a bunch of stuff. I’ve got a lot of stuff I need to get off my chest.’ Then, he’ll come in the studio and he’ll just work. That’s how it’s been every other time. In my office I probably got like three hard drives worth of Gucci [Mane’s] music that ain’t been released.”
Thomas Morton also spoke with super producer Zaytoven about Gucci Mane and his influence on the genre of trap.
During the conversation, Zaytoven spoke on trap’s widespread appeal before calling Gucci Mane the “big dog” when it comes to trap music. Zaytoven’s comments come just weeks after calling Gucci “one of the best of our time,” during a recent interview with DJ Smallz.
“The trouble that they get in or try to stay out of is almost the reason why their music come across so good,” Zaytoven says of trap music. “You’ll probably never live that lifestyle [or] never see it, but you’ll feel what they going through or feel what they doing ‘cause these are the type of lifestyle these guys are living.
“We respect Gucci so much because Gucci will bring everybody together,” Zaytoven adds. “He’s the mayor. He’s the main guy when you talk about trap music, that’s who you wanna hear. Everybody else is understudies and doing their thing but he’s the big dog. He’s putting on everybody, he’s giving everybody a shot.”

Judge Grants Ludacris 'Primary Physical Custodian' Of Daughter

We have been reporting about Ludacris fighting for full custody of his 1-year-old daughter and a judge has declared the rapper will receive primary physical custody. According to the reports, Luda and Tamika have joint legal and physical custody, but Luda is “ the primary physical custodian.”
“The judge awarded both Luda and Tamika joint legal and physical custody but said Luda will be “the primary physical custodian.” We’ve watched the video of the decision and the judge messes up in a big way, saying Luda has decision-making authority. If that’s true, he would have primary legal custody. Short story … the judge makes very little sense.
Luda tells TMZ, “I am gratified that the judge found me to be the most fit and proper parent to have primary physical custody of our beautiful daughter.”” (TMZ)

Lil Wayne Forced To Stay With Cash Money If Birdman Pays

Recent reports claim Lil Wayne will be suing Cash Money and Birdman for $51 million and now it has come out that if Wayne does get his money that he is owed, he will have no other choice but to stay with his longtime label.
According to new reports, if Birdman coughs up the $10 million Wayne is owed, the Young Money head will be forced to stay with Cash Money.
“There are 2 payments that have irked Wayne — he says he was owed $8 million when he went into the studio to record “Tha Carter V” in December 2013, and another $2 mil when he completed the album last month.
We’re told the hope is that Universal — which distributes Cash Money Records — will step in and earmark the $10 mil for Wayne. And we’re told Universal is already putting pressure on Cash Money to settle.
If Cash Money pays Wayne the $10 mil, it would essentially eliminate any breach of contract. That means Wayne would have no legal basis to ask out of the contract. Even though Wayne’s suing for $51 million, most of that is predicated on future lost profits which would not be an issue if they settle.” (TMZ)

Vinny Idol Details The Making Of Dipset's "Have My Money"

Following the release of Dipset’s “Have My Money” record earlier this month — that saw the Harlem collective reunite on wax for the first time since 2010 — producer Vinny Idol spoke with HipHopDX to detail the making of the cut.
Idol, who has worked with the likes of 50 Cent and Method Man among others during his career, says the record was laced by Dipset just 24 hours before it debuted on Funkmaster Flex’s Hot 97 radio show on January 5.
“'Have My Money’ came about because I’m doing some work with Un Kasa who is affiliated with Dipset and we’re working on an album,” Idol says. “He called me that Sunday [January 4] saying that they needed something in 24 hours because they’re going to [Funkmaster] Flex on Monday. I sent them about six records; they picked two and [“Have My Money”] was the one that they laid. I remixed it the next morning and it was on the airwaves. It was really a 24-hour process.”
The Bronx, New York producer also revealed the classic sample that he used for the record.
“I already had the loop because it was an old school loop from back in the day so I just cut it and kind of remade it and the rest is history,” he says. “I sampled Hamilton Bohannon’s ‘Singing A Song For My Mother.’ I laid the hook and then I mixed it and sent it over to Cam’ron and they laid it that night. That Sunday night. In the morning they called me, it was mixed that morning [and] then it went to the airwaves that night and they debuted it.”

Vinny Idol Discusses Work With The Lox

Idol also touched upon his extensive work with The Lox and his production efforts on the group’s “Talk About It” record off their The Trinity EP.
“I’m the in-house [producer] for D-Block anyway. I’ve got tons of records with them so that’s the same thing. They went through a catalogue that I sent [them] and they picked the [“Talk About It”] beat, laid it down and that was the first single that came out off The Trinity EP.”
In regards to Jadakiss’ upcoming album Top 5, Dead Or Alive, Idol says "its going to be more lyrical."
“More bars, he’s been sitting on the project for a long time and I know he’s really into it. It’s going to be a good project put it that way. I haven’t really heard the whole album yet because it’s not done, we’re still recording, but from what I’ve heard, it’s going to be a nice album.”

Dame Dash Speaks On Presenting Kanye West With BET Honors Award

After reuniting with Kanye West to present the icon with the "Honorary Vision" award at the recently taped 2015 BET Honors ceremony, Dame Dash opened up in an interview with Hip Hop Motivation about being asked to present the award, resolving his personal issues with 'Ye, and feeling like he finally got the credit he deserves for West's success.
The award show was taped on Sunday (January 24) and is scheduled to air on February 23.
"I didn't really get to really hang out with Kanye," Dame said of the experience. "It was really very impromptu."
Addressing the lead-up to the recent award show, Dash admitted to not having spoken with Kanye for many years.
"I haven't really spoke to him in about ten years," he said. "And there's things that I did have issues with with him. But, you know, it's just something that as men we have to speak about. So of course in that conversation it had to be addressed before we went forward. But still, I didn't really understand what was going on so I was like, 'I'll go anyway for the experience.' And also my daughter was like, 'I'll go. Get on the stage with you.'"
As for the speech itself, Dash characterized the opportunity as one of the first times he's been given credit for his part in an artist like West's success.
"When I put him on ten years ago before he got there, I knew he was going there," Dash said of Kanye's rise. "I wasn't expecting for me to be the person to give it to him because it's rare I get the credit on any level for anyone's success as of yet from another man. It was the first time that someone had given me a platform to take some kind of credit to give them platform. When they make it they usually don't give me a shoutout. But honestly Kanye always does give me a shout out. I gotta respect that. He always does so I can't be mad. And he did just then and I thought that was brave of him to do that too. The issues I had with him I spoke about it as a man, we spoke, that's between us. Whatever it is it is. I'm happy that I was a part of making history like I knew I would."
Dash also claimed that former Vibe Magazine writer and cultural critic Dream Hampton asked him to read a speech she wrote.
"Dream Hampton tried to hand me ten pages or something to say like ten seconds before," he said. "She's like, 'Say this.' I was like, 'Why?' 'Because it's beautiful and I wrote it.' I'm like, 'It's my speech. Why would I wanna say what you wrote?' She just stormed off. It is what it is. I thought it was admirable for them to attempt to control what I was saying."

The Notorious B.I.G. & kool Moe Dee Versus Busy Bee Starski Among "Ways New York City Changed The Rap Game" List

Green Label has released its list of “10 Ways New York City Changed The Rap Game,” a piece that highlights ten of the top ways New York City effected and influenced Hip Hop music and culture.
Included in the list was The Notorious B.I.G. among others. “The late, great Notorious B.I.G. had an unprecedented affect on the New York rap scene,” explains the piece. “He is omnipresent and will always be remembered as one of the finest emcees, not just from New York, but across the sphere to touch the mic. Golden Era romanticists will be familiar with the reign of the West Coast during the lucrative Death Row years, but it was the efforts of Christopher Wallace that balanced out the spectrum and brought New York back into the frame.”
The 1981 battle between Kool Moe Dee and Busy Bee Starski also featured on Green Label’s list.
“In 1981, at the industry-famous Harlem World, 129 Lennox Ave. in Manhattan, Kool Moe Dee and Busy Bee Starski created one of the first emcee battles that set the cornerstone for rivalry and the competitive sport we’ve come to love over the decades.” The piece continues: “Busy Bee was the emcee who could rock the party, hype a crowd and was an artist with entertainment at the heart of his manifesto. Kool Moe Dee on the other hand was the emcee infatuated with rhyming and the more likely to prevail on wax. Kool Moe Dee won that battle and subsequently a new sub-genre of Hip Hop emerged. In the words of the great KRS-One, 'If Kool Moe Dee had have lost that battle, nothing we’re saying today would be said… It would not exist.'”
The piece also outlined several other factors that contributed to New York's gargantuan influence on the Rap arena. Of course, Def Jam was included, as the house that Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons built is one of Hip Hop's cultural landmarks. Also included were New York radio stations Hot 97, 98.7, and Kiss FM, which kept the "urban" music pumping in through the wee-hours of the morning. "In the early ’80s, WBLS and Kiss FM were the go-to stations for your dose of Hip Hop music. WBLS introduced “Rap Attack,” hosted by Mr. Magic and Marley Marl, while Kiss FM added DJ Red Alert to their register," the piece stated.

Future's DJ Esco Spent 56 Days In A Dubai Jail

What began as a last-minute stop in Dubai for a Future performance in Abu Dhabi ultimately turned into a 56-day jail stint for the Atlanta rapper’s deejay, DJ Esco.
On January 13, Esco returned to America.
He shared the story of his ordeal in the United Arab Emirates with The Fader Magazine.
According to Esco, it all began when he was in Amsterdam, as part of Future’s European tour.  The deejay was also there to celebrate his own birthday, when the "Honest" rapper was tapped for a performance at the 2014 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Esco says that he purchased marijuana, while in Amsterdam, and accidentally left it in his luggage.
“We're at the end of the Europe tour, and it's my birthday, and we're in Amsterdam, so we're gonna celebrate! I got the weed,” Esco recalls. “But I'm not trying to walk around with all this weed, you feel me? I was not intentionally trying to bring weed to Abu Dhabi. And if I would have known the rules and laws they got over there, I would have quadruple checked my bag and made sure there wasn't a piece of weed. I swear I would have.”
After being accosted by a police officer for filming in the Abu Dhabi airport, Esco explained that the officer then demanded that he check all of the group’s luggage (20 to 30 bags). Upon checking the luggage, he says the officer came across about 15 grams of marijuana.
“The officer gets down to the last two bags, and that's when he finds a bag with some weed in it,” the deejay said. “It was a good little amount, probably 15 grams or something like that. At this point I'm thinking, first of all, What the fuck? I didn't know the weed was there. And second, I didn't know what the hell they was gonna do. Cause once they seen some weed they went crazy. You would have thought I had a bomb and there was ten seconds left and the world is about to end if they didn't get every officer up there. But I'm not scared yet, because I'm still thinking that worst case scenario, they're just gonna send me back on the plane.”
Esco wasn’t placed back on a plane.
Instead, he was taken to a police station and then placed into a jail cell. From there, he encountered few people who spoke English and experienced little help once he was able to have a one-on-one with representatives from the United States embassy.
According to Esco, his break came when he developed a friendship with a warden at the jail who assisted with getting in touch with his prosecutor.
“I cuss out both people from the U.S. Embassy, and then I walked back devastated 'cause that's when it hit me—I'm not getting out of here…To make a long story short, the warden blessed me,” he said. “He took a liking to me, taught me some things about Islam and we ended up growing our own relationship. He's the one who ended up helping me when my lawyer told me it might be six months, a year, or four years. I was sitting there in a daze after my lawyer left, thinking bout what I'm gonna do for the next year or whatever in here, and the warden came in and he was like, ‘It's not in my job description and I really don't care about your case, but I've come to like you as a person. I'm not suppose to do this, but I'm going to call your prosecutor.’ I couldn't even get the U.S. Embassy to call the prosecutor!”

Hip Hop Album Sales: Joey Bada$$, Nicki Minaj, Lupe Fiasco

After two of the most-anticipated albums of the year thus far were released last Tuesday (January 20), the official Soundscan numbers are in and Joey Bada$$ has the best-selling Hip Hop album in the country. Meanwhile, Lupe Fiasco’s latest album broke into the Top 20 at #14 while Nicki Minaj held steady at #6.
Lower down the list, J. Cole fell out of the Top 10 for the first time since his album was released but brought his total sold count to 708,494 after selling another 22,501 units last week.

Joey Bada$$ Debuts At #5

Releasing his debut album on the same day that Lupe Fiasco’s Tetsuo & Youth and Lil Wayne’s Sorry 4 The Wait 2 dropped, Joey Bada$$ officially has the best-selling Hip Hop album on the Billboard 200. In the span of a single week, B4.Da.$$ clocked 53,990 sales and was streamed more than 3 million times. On top of the streams, Bada$$ sold more than 16,000 single songs from the record and his total album equivalency number reached 57,694 as a result.

Nicki Minaj Holds On At #6

For a second week in a row, Nicki Minaj’s Pinkprint album is at #6 on the charts with the latest numbers nearly replicating her performance last week. Minaj sold another 27,623 units this past week, bringing her total sold count up to 446,029 since the album’s release last month. If she keeps up with her current sales, Minaj is on pace to break the Gold album milestone in just under two weeks.

Lupe Fiasco At #14

While Lupe Fiasco’s latest album sold less than half the number of albums as his last release did in its first week on the shelves, the 39,281 copies of Tetsuo & Youth Lu pushed this past week were enough to help him into the Top 20 at #14. The album was also streamed 2,382,138 times which helped Lupe’s total activity number peak at 42,458.

Boby Shmurda Still Facing Gun Charge

XXL magazine has received clarification in the Special Narcotics’ case against Brooklyn, New York rapper Bobby Shmurda.
Although it was previously reported that Shmurda’s gun charge was dropped, XXL reports that that information was inaccurate.
Kait Cornell of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor’s office, tells the publication, the rapper’s gun case was dismissed by the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office, but he still faces the charge in court.
The case being dropped by the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office is reportedly a “procedural step” to have the charge a part of the Special Narcotics’ case.
Additionally, the gun charge Shmurda faces resulted from authorities finding a gun on the rapper after obtaining a search warrant last summer, not the barbershop shooting the musician was allegedly involved in.
Shmurda is also now reportedly represented by Kenneth J. Montgomery, Esq. of KJM PLLC and not Howard Greenberg. Greenberg previously spoke with Revolt about the status of the rapper’s case.
“Brooklyn is done and now it’s on to Manhattan, where we need to teach these adversaries a lesson…The intermediate plan is if there is a superseding indictment on the 29th is to enter a plea of not guilty. The long term plan is to kick some ass and take no prisoners," he said.
Bobby Shmurda is currently scheduled to appear in court later today (January 29).

Safaree Samuels Says He Didn't Ghostwrite For Nicki Minaj

During an interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club earlier this month, Nicki Minaj’s ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels alluded to helping the Young Money artist when it came to writing her rhymes.
"Every time it came to writing raps, it was me, her and the beat,” Samuels said during the interview, which took place on January 13. “It got to the point where the respect was gone. I'm the one who packed my stuff and left.”
Now, during a string of recent tweets posted to his Twitter account, Samuels admitted that he never wrote Nicki’s raps, adding that she’s more than capable of writing projects by herself.
“i wanna say 1 thing cuz ppl like to take bs and run with it..,” Samuels wrote on Twitter yesterday (January 28).
He continues: “if there was anything in my interview that came off the wrong way towards nicki i apologize and want ppl to kno that she was the best thing that ever happened to me and is a great person inside and out and the most talented person i kno.. and i never said i wrote her raps.
“she is wayyy more than capable of writing a album on her own without me!,” Safaree Samuels adds. “shes not a dumb person, so its easy for smart ppl to come up with the witty and smart things that she says! i dnt kno about other ppl but i kno when it comes to writing flow n delivery she is 1 of the best if not the best.she has her style i have mine. so stop saying i write her stuff! not true!!! she sits w/a pen&pad &does it herself!God bless.”
He wrapped up by saying, “and to you ignorant fans i really wish yall would leave me alone. yall are so miserable..let me build me and stop tryin to tear me down.”

KXNG Crooked Says He'd Battle Loaded Lux For $1 Million

Nearly one year after Joe Budden battled Hollow Da Don at Total Slaughter , his Slaughterhouse comrade, KXNG Crooked is responding to a challenge from battle rap legend Loaded Lux with a simple answer.

"One million," he told VladTV, alluding to his fee requirement. "One million. Yeah. Other than that I'm gonna stay doing what I'm doing."

He later added, "Give me a million dollars we can rock and roll. I'll see if Em can be in attendance."

Speaking about his own personal history with battling, Crooked explained coming up in a different era than the currently-prevailing style.

"Not the type of battling that goes on today where it's all about who can crack the most jokes but who has the most notorious lines to verbally dismantle somebody and pull their fucking spine through their fucking throat and swing that bitch around in the air," he said of his battle experience. "That's what kind of battling we did when I was coming up at Leimert Park, Project Blowed, and at the Good Cafe. "

Crook also described his time on the battle circuit as a sort of necessary evil as a rapper.

"It wasn't something that I enjoyed doing it was just something like, 'You know what, this motherfucker thinks he can rap better than me. So I'ma show him,'" he said. "That was just what it was.

"As far as the Loaded Lux, I like how he broke it down," KXNG Crooked added before addressing his current career moves. "His wordplay is retarded, no disrespect to the mentally handicapped. He's ridiculous with the wordplay. He's top tier. It's flattering that somebody like that wants to battle. I'm doing One Shot, a Hip Hop competition, a Hip Hop reality show. Sway is hosting. I'm going through eight different cities looking for the next rap star, I'm an Executive Producer, I created that show. Then we have the Horseshoe Gang which is my group, I'm trying to help them get off the ground in an era that people don't even respect lyricism from underground groups no more. So, that's a challenge. Then I got C.O.B. I got the merchandise. I got the Slaughterhouse thing. I got my solo shit. It's just all this shit I got going on. If they want me to slow my world down and get on the main stage and really just go at somebody they need to just give me a million. If it's not worth a million then quit talking about it."

Dr.Dre Has Signed Justin Mohrle To Aftermath Records

Dr. Dre has signed a new artist.

Garland, TX native Justin Mohrle has recently been added to Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment, reports D Magazine.

According to a new profile piece published by the Dallas-based publication, Dre discovered the 23-year-old white rapper after he heard a demo he made with the assistance of The D.O.C.

Since Morhle arrived in California, he's been spending his time in 13-hour writing and recording sessions at the iconic producer's go-to studio, Record One.

"JT and I worked on a couple songs; Dre fell in love with the songs; Dre stole the songs from the kid, because he wanted to put them out as a unit," The D.O.C. told the magazine. "That’s the way this house is rolling. We’re all putting our energy toward building another classic for The Good Doctor. Then he’s going to take his time to help us build a classic for the youngster."

Though he won't be releasing any new music until Christmas, Mohrle says he's worked with King Mez, BJ The Chicago Kid and Gwen Stefani.

For now, he's reveling in the moment, but the young rapper understands the possibility of what fame may bring.

“With the situation I’m in, Dre could decide to drop a track tomorrow, and then I might not be able to ever go to the mall again like this. By myself,” he said.

Drake Releasing New Mixtape,According To P Reign

While speaking with Karen Civil, Toronto rapper P Reign confirmed that a mixtape from Drake is on the way.

He went on to state that the project is “crazy” and features some of Drizzy’s best material.

“I know Drake’s dropping a mixtape that I’ve already heard a lot of and it’s crazy,” Reign said during an interview with the blog. “I think it’s some of the best I’ve heard from him in my life and I already know off Drake’s mixtape the world is going to shake.”

Reign, who's recent hit "DnF" features the Young Money artist, did not disclose when the project would be released.

Two months ago, Toronto Raptors' guard DeMar DeRozan revealed on live television that the untitled mixtape would be released this month.

“I talked to him the other night,” DeRozan said on NBA TV. “Actually, he said he wants to give me his mixtape that come out in January.”

Despite comments from both P Reign and DeRozan, Drake has yet to address the alleged mixtape.

His forthcoming album, Views From The 6, is scheduled to be released later this year.

The 2015 Hip Hop World Championship,Will Be Held In San Diego

This year, the Hip Hop World Championships will be held in San Diego, CA.

Although the event isn't scheduled until August, several of the participants and organizers recently stopped by San Diego State University's Viejas Arena to scope out the scene.

According to NBC San Diego, the "Olympics of Hip Hop" is slated to draw over 3,500 dancers from more than 50 nations.

The competition was previously held in Las Vegas for the past seven years. Hip Hop international, the organization responsible for the event announced last year, that the World Championship finals will take place at Harrah’s Resort.

Hip Hop International's co-founder, Howard Schwartz, says many of the dancers come from the Southern California region.

"In every area of the world, right now as we speak, there is an event going on," Schwartz tells NBC San Diego. "It could be in Colombia, it could be in Paris, it could be in Brazil or it could be in Nigeria. All over the world there are crews performing and training to win their national championship to get here – San Diego – for the World Championship this summer."

The Hip Hop World Championships are scheduled to take begin at San Diego State University's Viejas Arena on August 1 and conclude at Harrah's Resort on August 9.

A$AP Yams Laid To Rest Over The Weekend

Earlier in the week, close friends and family of A$AP Yams (born Steven Rodriguez) said goodbye to the A$AP Mob member during a memorial service held at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel in New York City.

Vibe.com reports that the service was attended by about 100 people. The chapel was reportedly adorned with flowers while Yams’ casket featured an image of the A$AP Mob founder riding a unicorn while wearing a Coogi sweater and adidas sandals.

Those in attendance at the service received laminated “In Loving Memory Of” cards, which featured the following tweet from the late A$AP Mob member: “if i die before i wake i pray that A$AP will be great my momma good and my girl be late so It’ll be another me and the world be straight.”

A$AP Rocky and other members of A$AP Mob reportedly attended a private service.

A$AP Yams passed away earlier this month at the age of 26. The cause of his death has yet to be revealed. Friend and fellow A$AP Mob member, A$AP Rocky criticized those who have suggested that a drug overdose was the cause of Yams’ death. He spoke on the matter during a recent interview with Billboard.com.

“People were saying that Yams overdosed on drugs — he didn’t overdose on any drugs,” A$AP Rocky said, according to Vibe.com. “I feel like people feel that way because that’s all he’s in pictures doing. When you see A$AP Yams you see Hennessey or purple drink, you see some type of controlled substance or illegal narcotic.”

J Cole On "Fire Squad": "It's Not Even Iggy Azalea's Fault,She's Chasing Her Dream"

J. Cole recently stopped by the Combat Jack Show to discuss a wide range of topics via digital podcast.

During the two-hour sit-down, Cole reflected on his 2014 Forest Hills Drive album, "Fire Squad", wanting to sign Kendrick Lamar and more.

After describing his volatile childhood experience, Cole spoke openly about Jay's response to the album and its commercial success.

"He was fuckin' with it," Cole said in regards to his label boss's critiques. "We had a crazy talk it just so happened my album was about everything we talked about...He gave me amazing feedback on the album."

Cole also says he had no clue that 2014 Forest Hills Drive would be the highest selling Hip Hop album of the year. Prior to its release, Cole explained that although he knew it was his best effort thus far, he had to come to grips with his self that the album might flop, due to its uncanny promotion.

After Combat Jack played "Fire Squad" on the broadcast, Cole shared his thoughts behind his fierce last verse.

"I'd never go at Eminem," he confesses. "It's not even Iggy Azalea's fault, she's chasing her dream. It doesn't matter the quality of her music but I have to comment, it's my job to tell you what's on my mind in the slickest way ever...When history is told Macklemore is in them books, Iggy Azalea's in them books."

Cole also spoke about his relationship with Kendrick and detailed the first time he ever met the T.D.E. rapper.

It was 2010, when they first crossed paths to Cole's knowledge, at a party in L.A. An unknown Kendrick performed and Cole says, he had to let him know he was ill. Kendrick eventually sent him a couple of records and ever since, Cole has felt "compelled" to give him jewels because he knew what Kendrick was going through.

"I wanted to sign this nigga," Cole says. " I was like 'who the fuck is a Top Dawg?' Then it turned into some shit where he blew the fuck up and reached levels that I haven't reached. I didn't know that nigga' would go platinum before me."
