LL Cool J Reflects On Grammy's Involvement Describes " G.O.A.T.2" Album

LL Cool J is slated to host the 57th Grammy Awards this evening (February 8) in Los Angeles. It will be his fourth appearance as host but he says it never gets old.
Recently speaking with Forbes, the emcee-turned-actor and award show host reflected on his time as a host of music's biggest award ceremony and says Sunday's edition is the 10th he has been involved in.
"Between the Grammy nomination show, the Beatles special, and the Christmas special, Ken Ehrlich [the producer of the show] and I have developed a relationship and a certain amount of trust," he said when asked about his earliest involvement with the Grammy's. "I co-produced on some of those other shows. He trusted my opinion and he let me contribute to the process. Eventually I went from hosting the smaller shows to being able to host the biggest show."
Also during the interview LL Cool J talked about his forthcoming album and says he's "having a lot of fun" creating it and not rushing it.
"I’m working on G.O.A.T. 2. I’m taking my time with it," he said. "I’m having a lot of fun, and I have some really cool people on the record. It’s coming together slowly, so we’ll see. When it’s ready, I’ll put it out.
"It can be really tough. You’ll find a lot of artists that aren’t completely happy with their records. You have hits, you have flops. You have hits that you thought were going to be flops and flops that you really thought were going to be hits, and everything in between."

Mannie Fresh Speaks On Lil Wayne's Cash Money Situation

Lil Wayne has expressed his desires to leave his longtime label Cash Money and a lot of people in the music business have touched on the situation such as Pusha T, Suge Knight, and Turk. The latest person to speak on the situation is former Cash Money producer Mannie Fresh.
According to Fresh, Wayne’s desire to leave is due to him wanting to branch out musically from YMCMB.

“I think he’s going — real talk — ‘I could probably use Drake and Nicki, but I’ve done that so many times,’” said Mannie. “Let’s get out there and do things so I can show that I am bigger than life.” (AllHipHop)

Although Wayne has collaborated with a lot of artist, Mannie Fresh thinks he has not had that big crossover record to help him stand out.

“Wayne has given us some great albums, but he has never given us that album with like a Justin Timberlake on it – with features where like, OK, this is what we expect from an artist of your caliber,” Mannie stated. “If I did do a song and I got Justin Timberlake on it, I got Justin Timberlake fans as well. I think Wayne is starting to see it in that way. Hip Hop can only bring you so far.” (AllHipHop)

Bobby Shmurda Finally Speaks From Jail

Bobby Shmurda is facing some big charges including conspiracy,weapons possession, and reckless endangerment. The New York rapper could spend up to 25 years behind bars. Shmurda was interviewed from behind bars for the first time by Billboard where he spoke on his time behind bars,rumors about him getting stabbed, and his $2 million bail.

Has it been hard on you?
Not that hard. I get a lot of love in here.
People in there know who you are and know “Hot Boy”?
Yeah, everybody. Every time I walk the halls, I see people and they yell out “Ah Ah!” or something.
There are so many rumors, like, that you got stabbed.
It’s nothing but rumors, man. I’m good. Everybody knows I’m good. I’m chilling. We over here — we over here thugging it out, man. [Laughs.]
Your mother and your lawyer are working hard to get you out on bail. Are you hopeful about that?
Uhhh… We’re trying, but right now I think the DA and the judge and everyone in the court is being biased. It’s so crazy. The favoritism, yeah. They don’t have no evidence, no nothing on me for the bill to be so high. I haven’t been out for a year, I haven’t been around for a year. So I didn’t make two million dollars! [Laughs] They gave me a bill they know I can’t pay. We can pay the 10 percent. And we tried to pay the 10 percent and they told us collateral. And every time we go for bail, it’s something new. [Note: The Special Prosecutor’s Office said last week that the suretor (the person putting up collateral for Shmurda) had withdrawn. Shmurda’s lawyer, Kenneth Montgomery, says the defense is now working on a more viable bail package.]
Your last hearing was Jan. 29. What were you thinking in court?
When I see the judge and the DA, I just see a bunch of people [who are] trying to take my life away for being blessed. That’s what I look at when I look at them. It looks like a bunch of haters.
How do you feel about the other people who are your co-defendants? Have you been in touch with them at all?
Some of them I don’t know. Some of them I do know. They just started picking anybody out of the neighborhood. They got me locked up with — I’ve seen, I don’t know, probably like six people here. I don’t even know everybody. It’s crazy.
Besides your mother, who have you been in touch with?
I talked to Meek [Mill]. I talked to French [Montana]. I talked to Migos. I stay in contact with people.
What are you planning to do when you get out?
Write some platinum songs. [Laughs.] Finish up this deal I got with Epic.
Do you have a message for your fans?
Yeah. Keep your head up. Everybody goes through tough times and good times. You know what, tough times don’t last forever. I say, God makes his toughest battles for his strongest soldiers.

Birdman Not Allowed In Nicki Minaj's Pre Grammy Party

Nicki Minaj had a pre-Grammy party in West Hollywood last night and Birdman tried to stop by, but him and his crew were unexpectedly denied entry. The Cash Money head showed up to the event at around 1:45 AM Sunday morning and was told the club was closed so he couldn’t go in.

“There’s talk Nicki is going to bail on Birdman‘s Cash Money and follow Lil Wayne, so the fact that the mogul was sent walking seems like a big deal.  He showed up at 1:45 AM and the club is supposed to close at 2, and you hear a guy at the door tell Birdman‘s posse the club was already closed. 
At the same time, there was a good 15 minutes left and Birdman‘s kind of a big deal, and that may be why you hear someone say that Nicki didn’t want him in.” (TMZ)

Bobbi Kristina's Boyfriend Being Investigated For Foul Play

Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, has been in a coma for about a week now and new reports claim that there is a active criminal investigation going on in Georgia against her boyfriend Nick Gordon. The report claims Bobbi had certain injuries that might indicate foul play.
According to the reports, the police are looking into a possible altercation between Nick and Bobbi more than an hour before she was found in her bathtub.

“Law enforcement sources tell us … Bobbi Kristina had certain injuries that have piqued their interest. We do not know the nature of the injuries. Multiple sources tell TMZ there is a history of violence between Bobbi Kristina and boyfriend Nick Gordon.
We’re told police are looking into a possible altercation more than an hour before Bobbi Kristina was found submerged in a bathtub.” (TMZ)

Bobby Brown Refusing To Take Bobbi Kristina Off Life Support

As we reported, Whitney Houston’s daughter is currently on life support and doctors recently told her family that they suggest they take her off. Bobbi Kristina’s dad, Bobby Brown, is reportedly refusing to take her off life support because he believes God will bring her back.

“Bobby Brown is adamant … he doesn’t want to take his daughter Bobbi Kristina off life support because he believes in God-driven miracles. Bobby’s feelings are not shared by doctors, who have advised him she will not improve and pulling life support is an appropriate action. But Brown and his family — who are deeply religious — believe doctors cannot account for miracles … miracles the family has seen before.” (TMZ)
