Parade has assembled a list of “10 Inspirational Quotes to Celebrate Dr. Dre’s 50th Birthday.”
The rapper-producer-Beats Music executive turned 50 yesterday (February 18).
The first quote in the Parade list is, “When the ideas are coming, I don’t stop until the ideas stop because that train doesn’t come along all the time.”
A portion of Dr. Dre’s story will be presented in the forthcoming N.W.A Straight Outta Compton biopic.
N.W.A,
whose other members included Ice Cube, Eazy-E, MC Ren and DJ Yella,
rose to prominence in the 1980s thanks to its aggressive brand of
Gangster Rap and such songs as “_ _ _ _ Tha Police” and “Express
Yourself.”
Since then, Dr. Dre co-founded Death Row Records,
launched Aftermath Entertainment and co-founded Beats Electronics. He’s
also produced and executive produced landmark recordings by Snoop Dogg,
Eminem and 50 Cent, among others.
Another quote on the Parade list includes how Dr. Dre looks toward the future.
“When I think of the future, I think a lot of Quincy Jones
and how he is an inspiration,” the quote says. "Nothing pulls you back
into the studio more than the belief that your best record is still
ahead.”
